Laura Linney's portrayal of vulnerable but strong characters has earned her the title of one of today's greatest American actors. She was raised by a single, unmarried mother who worked as a nursing assistant. She became interested with theatre in holidays with her father, who was famous. She was a student of acting through Brown University, and later at Juilliard School. In the two years following her graduation, she launched an Broadway career. The following year, she began her career in television. She has appeared in innumerable film, TV as well as stage productions ever since. There have been numerous awards throughout her career. These include 4 Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, three Academy Award Nominations, and five Tony Award Nominations.
