Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti] Romania). She was the first to achieve a perfect 10 on an Olympic celebration. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi who was later her Romanian gymnastics coach, when she was just six years old. The first time she competed at the junior national championships in 1969 where she placed 13th. She won the competition in 1970. In 1972, during a meet of communist countries junior athletes prior to the Olympics, she took home three gold awards. After that, in 1973 and 1974 she was named the all-around junior champ. She defeated the Russian Lyudmila Torishcheva, the five-time European Champion, in her debut senior international event in the year 1975. At this competition, she won four golds and a silver. In 1976 she became the first female to do the reverse double salo of the bar with a parallel unevenness as part of her demount. She took home the trophy at the American Cup, held in New York City. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. The actress began her career in the entertainment industry during her teens, when she was a figure skating duo with her older sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a American citizen who was born on September 6, 1942, in Chicago Illinois. Carol was a part of the world of entertainment during her teens. She began her career as figure skater performing with her sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around named Ice Capades. They featured ice-skating performance that was accompanied by musical theatre.
